How Hoolies Started

Our founder couple is Adri and Wayne Jeffers.
Adri is a textile designer who began her journey by screen printing children’s clothing tees with cute animals in her garage during her student years. She later launched a children’s clothing range with her husband, supplying tourism outlets across South Africa. Inspired by her own children, Adri continues to infuse creativity and passion into our designs, with her children now contributing their creative input to many of our efforts.

We source all fabrics locally and never rely on imported, pre‑made garments. Our cotton is free from harmful pesticides and chemicals, ensuring safety and softness for every child. To reduce our carbon footprint, we partner with nearby specialists for services such as printing and embroidery, keeping production within a small radius. Even our packaging reflects this ethos -we repurpose cartons from large companies that would otherwise have been discarded, giving them a second life.

We uphold strict safety standards in every garment. Our dyeing process uses only non‑toxic chemicals, and all poppers are nickel‑free to protect delicate skin. Wherever possible, we choose organic cotton for added peace of mind. Designed with comfort at the forefront, our toddler clothing is generously cut to allow little ones the freedom to play, explore, and move as only toddlers can.
